

Robert E. “Bob” Cecil, age 52, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on March 28, 2017. Bob was born on May 22, 1964 in Wilmington, DE.
Bob was called “Superman” by many. He was a graduate of the Class of 1983, Rising Sun High School. Bob was on the wrestling team where he excelled as one of their top wrestlers. He was a very talented cartoonist, one of his cartoon characters was the Rising Sun Tiger which is still used throughout the school today. Bob worked for T. D. Williamson, Wilmington, DE as a Master Pipe Freeze Technician. He enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren. Bob and his wife Lisa had a daycare at their home, which Bob fondly called “Lisa’s Lil Rascals.” Bob loved to be called “Gramps” by all the children.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa M. Cecil of Rising Sun, MD; sons, Robert V. Cecil of Elkton, MD and Ricky A. Hillsgrove, Jr. of Earleville, MD; daughters, Jena Palmer of Elkton, MD and Lindsay Hillsgrove of Elkton, MD; brothers, Donnie Cecil of Newark, DE, Marty Cecil of Elkton, MD and Gabe Cecil of Rainelle, WV; sister, Rene Gilbert of Monticeole, GA; mother, Lillian Lusk of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Logan, Landyn, Madilyn (Princess Maddie), Leevy, Ricky III, Aiden and Natalie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Cecil.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the funeral home, with a visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at North East Methodist Cemetery. Contributions may be made payable to the National Kidney Foundation c/o the funeral home.
