Robert “Bobby” Douglas Sheetz

June 10, 1954 - February 14, 2025

Robert Douglas Sheetz, 70, of Bear, DE, went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2025. He was born in Chester, PA, on June 10, 1954, to the late John Douglas Sheetz Jr. and Ruth (Brown) Sheetz.

Bobby cherished his family and spending time with his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Even moving closer after his retirement to spend as much time with them as possible. He will always be remembered for his statement, “blessed, highly favored, and heaven bound.”

Bobby is survived by his son: Roger, and his wife Danielle; his sisters: Shelby Shepherd, Sharon Williams, and Mary Knights; his grandchildren: William and Delilah Sheetz, and Rudolph DiMaio IV; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son: William (Billy) Sheetz; and his brothers: George Todd, Rex Sheetz, and Roger Sheetz.

Robert was in the class of '72 at SLC (Southern Lancaster County) PA. Knew him and his brothers Roger and Rex. Miss them all.

I remember meetings Bob on the day of my interview back in 2016. After spending almost an hour with Bobby Sheetz, aka “The Legend “ we became great friends! Gerald, Our supervisor asked me, how many times does Bob Sheetz call you in a day. Rather than tell him I handed over my company cell phone….. 32 times that day and counting! We became good friends for many years after that and he always start the conversation off by speaking of his number one grandson and reminded me that would never change. He will always be my number one.. Bob, I will forever be grateful for your friendship and advice about life! We will meet again my good friend. Prayers sent to your family…

BOB WAS THE SWEETEST MAN. HE WAS MY NEIGHBOR AND MY DEAREST FRIEND. HE WOULD COME OVER EVERY SUNDAY FOR DINNER. AND WE WOULD TALK EVERY DAY. MY HEART IS TRULY BROKEN AND I WILL MISS HIM DEARLY. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES GO OUT TO FAMILY.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. Bob was a great guy who always made me smile and laugh. His greetings to our "Mickey-dog" made Bob Mickey's favorite person. I know he will leave a big hole in your hearts. The Kemp family will remember him fondly forever.

I had the good fortune of meeting Bob about 10years ago. We had quite a few good conversations over the years. . He was definitely one of kind!! Sorry to hear about his passing. I remember how much his grandchildren meant to him. I can hear him now “that’s pop pop’s boy!”
