Robert Clyde Sammons, 82, of Elkton, MD passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Clyde and Eleanor (Wiggins) Sammons.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, flying, fishing, and shooting. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly. Robert will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his son, Joseph Sammons and his wife, Deborah of Florida; two daughters: Regina Sammons of Elkton, MD and Teresa Sammons of Elkton, MD; seven grandchildren: Zachary, Nikki, Richard, David, Billy, Jr., Matthew, and Jaclyn; five great grandchildren; and two sisters: Elaine Schoettle and her husband, Richard of Ocean City, MD and Joan Hemphill of Berlin, N.J.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Sammons.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE 19808. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Amedisys Foundation” and send in care of the funeral home.
