Robert “Bob” W. McCulloch, Sr. of Colora, MD, age 85, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was born November 10, 1935 in Spring Township, PA to the late John Taylor McCulloch and Emma Sadie (Hinnershitz) McCulloch.
Bob McCulloch served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He worked as a Technician and Owner of a Sinclair Gas Station in the 1960’s. Bob later followed in his father’s footsteps, working in the Aerospace industry for over 20 years at Martin Marietta Aerospace until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked part time as a parts delivery driver for Sturgill Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep.
Bob was a car enthusiast and favored American Muscle cars. He enjoyed drag racing at local raceways, as well as slot car racing. Bob would take long drives, getting “lost” on purpose so he could explore the area. In his travels, he would save turtles from the road, and enjoyed caring for them in his turtle pen. Bob also loved watching the “Rat Patrol” on tv and found great joy in taking family trips to Hershey Park and the Zoo. He was also a long time Raiders fan.
Bob is survived by his sons: Robert McCulloch Jr. of Colora, MD, Scott McCulloch of Colora, MD; daughters: Sharon Crumbacker of La Grange, NC, Linda Dalton of Elkton, MD; 9 grandchildren: Cathy Matz, Amy Cullum, Dottie Crumbacker, Joshua Schuler, Chris Dalton, Ashley McCulloch, Cody McCulloch, Emma McCulloch, Cole McCulloch; 9 great grandchildren: Kyle, James, Ian, Nicole, Cheyene, Timothy, Mason, Justin, Maddy.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley McCulloch.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may begin visiting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery.
