Robert A. O’Donnell, Sr., age 86, of Smyrna, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 8, 1927 in Everson, PA to the late Joseph and Marie (Eckman) O’Donnell.
Robert, a graduate of St. Josephs Academy, and was a foreman at Phoenix Steel for many years until his retirement in 1972.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte (Karlins) O’Donnell of Smyrna, DE; sons, Robert A. O’Donnell, Jr. of Greenwood, DE and Michael K. O’Donnell and wife Lisa of Fair Hill, MD; daughters, Diane Smith of Goodyear, AZ, Sharon O’Donnell of Newark, DE, and Lora Saxton and husband Roland of Middletown, DE; brother, Edward O’Donnell of Hampton, VA; sister, Mary Archer of Chesapeake, VA; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Robert is preceded in death by his two brothers James O’Donnell and Thomas O’Donnell.
All services will be held privately.
