Rickey Lee Pierce, 66, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 29, 1959, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edwin S. Pierce and Frances E. (née Riale) Pierce, and the devoted husband of 34 years to Donna (née Reynolds) Pierce.
Rickey dedicated 30 years of service as a Maintenance Technician for the State of Maryland before his well-earned retirement and went on to become a school bus driver for Elite School Bus Company for 7 years. A proud Harley-Davidson enthusiast, he loved to ride and was equally passionate about classic cars —especially his prized 1988 Pro-Street Ford Ranger which he built with his family.
Known for his skillful hands and creative mind, Rickey enjoyed repairing engines, welding, and building projects of all kinds. There truly wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He loved playing pool, attending swap meets, and lending a hand whenever something needed repair. Rickey also served his community as a member of the Rising Sun Volunteer Fire Department as part of the Fire Police.
At home, Rickey’s heart belonged to his beloved Chihuahuas, Cody (who preceded him in death) and Sissy, as well as his cat, Boots. Those who knew him will remember him as a man of strong convictions and unwavering honesty—someone who always spoke his mind and stood by his beliefs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin Pierce and Donald Pierce.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Pierce; his children, Brian Pierce, Natoshia Watters, and Kevin (Courtney) Pierce; grandchildren, D’Onte Leigh, Tashawn Watters Jr., Ethan Watters, and Kaden Pierce; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Phora; his brother, Stanley Pierce; his sister, Judy Keys; brothers-in-law, Doug Reynolds and Bucky Reynolds; and many extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Rickey’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, Maryland. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery.
