Richard H. Henderson (79) of Conowingo, Maryland went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 24, 2024.  He was a lifelong resident of Cecil County Maryland and was the son of H. Earl and Velva Henderson.  He was married to Joanne L. (Brammer) Henderson for 59 years as of August 28, 2024.

He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School class of 1963.  He worked at Chrysler Corporation, Aberdeen Proving Ground, and then was a long-haul tractor and trailer owner/operator for over 40 years.  He served in the Delaware Air National Guard for 6 years.

Richard was a member of Conowingo Baptist Church for 65 years where he served in various positions.  He was an avid golfer, football watcher (loved the Miami Dolphins), and spent many hours reading about historical events.  He enjoyed it when friends and family members called him for help with directions while traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Michael (his wife Jennifer) of Conowingo, MD and Robert (his wife Kelly) of Maryville, TN, and several grandchildren; 2 sisters, Patsy Delp of Northeast, MD and Linda Foraker of Wilmington, DE; and a brother, Steve Henderson, of Johnson City, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Conowingo Baptist Church.  The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be at the Conowingo Baptist cemetery.
