Richard Garry Harman, age 71 of Landenberg, PA passed away on May 16, 2026. He was born on November 13, 1954 in Elkton, MD to the late Robert Eugene Harman and Myrtle Elizabeth (Slade) Harman.
Garry was an outdoorsman through and through. His greatest passion was fishing. His family joked that if there was a puddle, he would try to catch fish in it. He also enjoyed hunting deer, squirrel, and waterfowl. Garry was a member of the American Legion Post 194 and served in their Honor Guard. He was a proud veteran who served in the US Navy as well as the MD National Guard. He was in the Aviation Unit where he was tasked with taking pictures while inside of a helicopter. Garry was also a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Rising Sun, MD.
Garry is survived by his wife, Donna Miller-Harman; sister, Marie Aleshire; sister-in-law, Pili Harman; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Margaret Edmundson, John Robert Harman, Ralph Eugene Harman, Caroline Burton, and William Harman.
Garry’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 1PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 12PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “American Cancer Society” and sent in care of the funeral home: P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
