Richard Francis Elwell, 60, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2016. Born on July 18, 1955 in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Eugene and Miriam (Becker) Elwell.

Richard served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Shasta stationed in California. He was discharged in 1980. He also worked at NLB Corporation for 31 years, a manufacturer of High Pressure Water Systems, where he started as a mechanic, then became a branch manager, and finally went on to be an East Coast Regional Salesman. Richard and his family lived in New Jersey until 2010 before moving to a home in Perryville, MD. His hobbies included guns, woodworking, boating, and over 30 years of interest in motorcycles.

Richard is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia Elwell of Perryville, MD; daughters: Angela Elwell of Philadelphia, PA, and Alecia Elwell of Perryville, MD; grandson, Christian Parks of Perryville, MD; brothers: Eugene Elwell of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Daniel Elwell of Marlton, NJ, and Dennis Elwell of Voorhees, NJ; and sister, Barbara Carr of Media, PA.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on June 4, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org.
