Thinking of Tucker -- spent some time coming to Tucker's sing's on his birthday and at Christmas time . . . then the bag pipe events, Katherine Kennedy's visit, and many other visits. Sitting and watching him eat his gispacho soup in the summer. 4th of July fireworks. He really helped me with my parent's passing . . . he was a role model. He had great personality. What a wonderful life . . . I'm glad I spent time with him on occassios. Thank you, Tucker, for just being you! Rest in peace!

I learned of Tucker's passing when I came back to Elkton for my mother's funeral this summer and I can tell you he was always loved and respected by her and my extended family (the EY Mackeys around Fair Hill). As a child I remember Tucker as a quiet man who would throw big parties at that beautiful farm by the creek. Then by high school I seem to recall old fashioned fireworks displays at his home. But my greatest memory of Mr. Mackie is when I was in college and worked as an intern at the Maryland State Senate for Elroy Boyer. He and Tucker were truly great representatives for the north eastern corner of Maryland. They fought tooth and nail for your interests and had the vision of keeping Cecil/Kent County agrarian while permitting the introduction of clean industry to provide jobs for their constituents. In a more colloquial and improper way "They done you good!"...which is a rather ironic way of putting it since Tucker was all about propriety and decorum when I saw him in Annapolis. I believe generations of Cecil County residents have Tucker to thank for saving the Du Pont Farm at Fair Hill now known as the Fair Hill Natural Resource Area.. God bless you Mr. Mackie...and my belated condolences to Tucker's family and friends.

We will miss "Tucker" coming into our store for some of his farm supplies. He was a great man with a sharp wit and we had quite a bit of fun jousting about our friends in Washington. Tucker and we had an interesting time a few years back arranging for his "chamber music" with the UofD ensemble for his reception. He never forgot that we helped him arrange that and he went on and on how that really worked out for his reception. We have fond memories of his visits to Oxford Grain and Hay and we will miss him.

As many of his friends, Tucker has gone full circle from Young Democrat to Old Democrat back to Young Democrat. Although, I believe God has something much better than even democracy waiting for us! If the party in Heaven is anything like the parties I experienced as a child, they are all singing "Having a great time, Wish you were here!"

Mr. Mackie was a gentle man of the truest sense. He was a good friend and mentor to my son, Matt. He was polite and always concerned with others. I will miss him riding by in his truck and his occasional stops to check on me.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I spent many nights staying in the stone house as a teenager during the summer when I took horse back riding lessons. My cousin Kitty and I kept him busy. But I think he enjoyed every minute of our company. Uncle Tucker would not let me wear pants to a party. If I had them on, I had to go back and change before he would let me in his car.
