To the McCummings Family,

My deepest sympathies to the McCummings family for your loss of Richard. I pray for your healing and peace at this difficult time. Autumn, a few years ago your Uncle Joe and I ran into your father at the Legion, and your father told me, "the only thing he wanted for your life was for you to be truly happy." As we talked about our children, I was very impressed by his unconditional love for you and his only desire for your life. Richard's face lite up and his eyes sparkled that night as he talked about you Autumn. I hope these words help ease your pain. I will always remember Richard for his beautiful smile, his goofy laugh, his gentle and kind demeanor, but most of all his unconditional love for his daughter, Autumn. He was a true friend who helped me years ago when I was going through difficult times. I will always remember his friendship with a smile. My faith says all our paths will cross again one day and I look forward to that moment. All my love, Indy (Darlene M. Whiteman-Nybo)

What a shame Beanie had to leave his family and his friends ... I didn't know him very well - heard only good about him. He'll be missed not sitting on his stool at the Legion.

Richard was the best friend to us over the last two years before we sold our home and moved. He mowed our lawn every week, shopped for us at Martin's, brought our papers in daily and took our refuse can out to the road each week, After Fred's heart attack, Richard was there to help us always with a smile.

I was shocked to hear of Richards passing. I knew him through his sister when he would come to visit her. I'd also see him out and about at the Legion or Lee's Landing. Patty Kent
