Retta Lea McWilliams, 91, a lifelong resident of Rising Sun, passed away June 19, 2012 at Union Hospital.
Born on March 13, 1921, Retta was the daughter of the late Raul T. and Minnie E. Abrams Jackson. She was homemaker who loved to crochet and work in her flower garden and was known for her green thumb. She enjoyed country western music and enjoyed travelling to hear the singers.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James V. McWilliams, Jr. of Rising Sun; a son, James V. McWilliams, III and his wife Patsy of Rising Sun, three grandchildren, Annette R. McWilliams of Rising Sun, James V. McWilliams, IV and his wife Diane of Port Deposit and Michael Alan McWilliams and wife Paula of Rising Sun; ten great grandchildren and her sister Virginia Starr of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Jimmy.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. ,111 So Queen St, Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Thursday June 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
