Renee M. Steele, aged 92, formerly of Newark, DE, and most recently of Elkton, MD where she lived with her daughter Lisa and her husband Jack Blanchet, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. She was born on May 3, 1920 in Los Angeles, CA to the late George and Anna (Riley) Mathieu.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Satterfield of Millsboro, DE, Janice McMillan and husband Richard of Millsboro, DE, Virginia Lanczkowski and husband Robert of North East, MD, and Lisa Blanchet and husband Jack of Elkton, MD; son Charles Steele of Wilmington, NC; a sister Louise Finney of Everett, WA; many lovely grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Vernon Steele, and a daughter Mary Kathryn Steele.

A memorial service will be held 3PM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may visit one hour prior. Inurnment will follow at Head of Christiana Cemetery in Newark, DE. Memorial contributions can be made to the Meeting Ground Homeless Shelter c/o the funeral home.
