Rebecca Marks Schierbaum of Elkton, MD, age 88, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016. She was born on October 30, 1928 in DE to the late Bernard Carmen Marks and Marie Domenique Elizabeth (Porecca) Marks.

Rebecca is survived by her son, Mark Schierbaum and his companion, Bonnie Smith of Titusville, FL, daughter, Lisa Cameron and her husband, Robert of Elkton, MD, stepson, John Schierbaum and his wife, Penelope of Stuart, FL, brother, Vincent Marks and his wife, Peggy of Tyler, TX, seven grandchildren: John Eric Schierbaum, Monica Schierbaum, Kristin Killpack, Carrie Schuckle, Amanda Vaughan, Kelsey Benner and Abigail Brown; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Schierbaum, and stepson, Rick Schierbaum.

A celebration of Rebecca’s life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11AM at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10AM. Memorial contributions in Rebecca’s honor may be made payable to the ” Anatomy Gifts Registry” or “Union Hospital Foundation” and sent in care of the funeral home.
