Raymond E. Robinson, age 97, of Newark, DE, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Conestoga View Nursing Home in Lancaster, PA.
Born September 19, 1915 in Newark, DE, Raymond was the son of Claire and Conrad Robinson.
Ray attended Newark High School. He owned and operated Ray’s Repair Shop located on Route 273 and Ogletown Road for five years. He was a lifetime member of Aetna Fire Company since 1954 driving the ambulance and responding to many life-threatening calls. His greatest joy was spending time and making memories with his loving family.
Raymond is survived by his son Conrad Robinson and his wife Faye of Elkton, MD; daughter, Betty Jo Barker and her husband Bernard of Nottingham, PA; step-sons, Larry Fox of Bear, DE and Charles Fox, also residing in Bear, DE; step-daughter Olive Dalton of New Castle, DE; seven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation on Monday, April 15, 2013, at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE, 19711, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by the burial at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE at 11:00 AM.
