Rev. Dr. Ray R. Wise, 74, of Conowingo, MD, went home to be with his Lord on July 6, 2016.

A native Lancaster Countian, he was active in Southern Baptist church life for more than 30 years; serving in local, state, and national positions. He pastored churches in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He and his wife, Karol, also served three years as home missionaries in northwest Pennsylvania under the appointment of the Southern Baptist Convention. Ray was active for six years as State Volunteer Prayer Consultant.

Community-minded, Ray served as Town Councilman and Mayor of Camden, DE. He also served for several years as a volunteer at the Hershey Medical Center. He was an active member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church, Peach Bottom, PA.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters: Amy Antonio of Rising Sun, MD; Beth Parker of Germany; and Karen Farlow of Conowingo, MD. Ray was survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth (Blevins) Wise; father, John W. Wise; sister, Mary Ruth Wise; four brothers, John L. Wise, Thomas A. Wise, Clarence P. Wise, and twin brother, Roy R. Wise.

A memorial service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Wrightsdale Baptist Church, Peach Bottom, PA, with Pastor Steve Sheldon officiating. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made payable to Wrightsdale Baptist Church or to the National Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.
