Polly Moehlman Bray, 90, of Newark, DE passed away at home on December 23 2014. Polly was born June 7 1924 in Whitehall, Muskegan County, Michigan to the late Henry and Mabel (Carlson) Moehlman.
Polly graduated in theatre and speech from Michigan State University where she was named the outstanding woman in her class. In 1947 she married Dale Frank Bray, accepting his proposal 6 months after his original proposal made on their second date.
She taught theatre and drama classes at Lansing Eastern High School, Newark High School, and University of Delaware. While at Newark High School she was named 1974 Delaware Teacher of the Year. She acted with the University Drama Players, the Wilmington Drama League, Breck’s Mill Cronies, and the Brandywiners.
Survivors include her son James D. Bray and his wife M. Jo Kallal of Newark, DE; son-in-law Paul Yacoe; two grandchildren, Rosalind Yacoe and Jesse Yacoe, and his wife Lyryn; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ian and Wyatt Yacoe; all of Coatesville, PA.
Polly was predeceased by her husband Dale; daughter Jane Bray Yacoe; and brother Wendell Moehlman.
