Phyllis Ruth March

PHYLLIS R. DUNCAN MARCH, Age 77 of Elkton, MD, formally of Rising Sun, MD, peacefully transitioned to heaven to be awarded her Angel Wings on November 22, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was a devoted wife, loving Mother, doting Mom-Mom to her two grandsons and an amazing sister.

Born and raised in Alabama, she later met and married her forever sweetheart Robert L. (Bob) March.  They were married November 2, 1962, and just recently celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary.

After being a stay-at-home Mom and raising her daughter, Phyllis chose to pursue a career for herself.  She started by setting goals and didn’t quit until she achieved all of them.  She began working at Cecil County Public Schools as a cafeteria worker and worked her way into a management position.  Coupled with her on the job training, her journey included many classes at Cecil Community College and many hours of study that she chose to do on her own so that she would be the very best that she could be in her management position.

Phyllis was kind and compassionate, had a loving heart and always had a smile for everyone.  She loved having a good time and living life to its fullest.  Following her retirement, she had the opportunity to do some extensive traveling that took her to many places in Europe and the Caribbean.  She would always say that this was a dream come true.  She soaked in every moment of the adventures.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Robert L. March of Elkton, MD. Daughter Lisa Ann Dempsey (Ed) of Middletown, DE, Grandsons Collin Dempsey, Connor Dempsey of Middletown, DE. Sister Faye Duncan Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC, Niece Kim Gwin (David) Brittany & Madison of Columbia SC and Niece Tiffany Davenport Hill (James) Nichole Davenport of Calera, AL. Jessie and Phyllis March and their children Jonathan March and Jessica March. John March’s children Janette Harris, Pamela Olgers and Aaron March. Orville and Betty March and their children Tammy Yankura, Lorretta March and Gordon March. Leroy March and children Brian March, Sharon Wiest, and Trish March.

Preceded in transition by her Father Horace Duncan, Mother Madge Kelley Hall, Brother-In-Law Dale O. Miller.
