

Phyllis Lucas Gardner of West Grove, PA, age 95, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017. She was born on March 30, 1922 in Covington, VA to the late William Lee Lucas and Maggie (Gwin) Lucas.
Phyllis was a long time member of Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church and she was strong in her faith. Phyllis enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, traveling and loved taking walks. Her most cherished time was spent with her beloved family.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gardner Clements and her husband, Tommy; two sons: Alan Gardner and his wife, Rocchine, and Roger Gardner and his wife, Nancy Harper-Gardner; four grandchildren: Stefanie Russell, Whitney Wisniewski, Rachel Gardner and Taylor Gardner; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Jacob Dudley Gardner.
Services for Phyllis will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church” or “Willow Tree Hospice” and sent in care of the funeral home, R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
