Peter Donald Hughes, 64, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away on May 10, 2016.
He was born May 31, 1951 in New London, CT. Peter graduated from Johns Hopkins University and received a Master’s degree in Fisheries Biology from the University of Massachusetts. He worked the last 37 years for DPL/PEPCO.
Pete loved cooking gourmet meals for his family, boating, and spending time at his family summer home on Martha’s Vineyard. He was a lifelong NY Giants and Yankees fan and enjoyed watching all sports, especially NASCAR and lacrosse.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Robin (Howard) Hughes; sons, Jeremy A. Hughes of Newark, DE, Adam R. Hughes (Leigh Ann) of Middletown, DE; his father, Roger F. Hughes of Groton, CT; and his brother, Allyn F. Hughes of Webb, AL. He was also the much beloved “Gramp” to his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jenna, Kylie, Catherine and Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Hughes.
A service will be held in Peter’s honor at 11 am Saturday, May 21, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.

Before I retired in 2009 Pete was my boss for over 18 years and I must say that he was the best boss I ever had. We go back to the days before SAP.
