Paul R. Rodgers, Sr., 86, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
Born April 26, 1928 in Tyronne, PA, Paul was the son of the late Paul H. Grace G. Rodgers. Paul became a Merchant Marine when he was sixteen years old; after traveling over the seas, he returned home and began his career as an Owner/Operator Trucker. Paul loved going to auctions, yard sales and was especially passionate about ships. He enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the Chesapeake City parades.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Fay Rodgers; three sons, Paul R. Rodgers, Jr., Kenny Rodgers, and Mark Rodgers; two step sons, William Charles Lidstone and Jeffrey Bennett; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carole Boyles and his first wife, Betty Rodgers.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the American Cancer Society and sent in care to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
