Paul M. Kane, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at home in Newark, DE with his loving wife. Paul was born in Elkton, MD on August 30, 1930. Paul was the son of the late Bernard and Earlene (Simpers) Kane.
After serving his country in the United States Air Force, Paul worked for 30 years with Chrysler. Paul was an avid baseball fan, and he diligently followed the Orioles and the minor league IronBirds teams. Paul enjoyed bowling with friends, and was a big fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. It was not uncommon to see Paul sitting in his recliner repeatedly watching NASCAR re runs on the television. Paul will always be remembered fondly by his friends and family as having a “big attitude in a little body.”
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Olie Jean (Grubb) Kane, of Newark, DE; daughter, Donna J. Owens and husband Richard of Middletown, DE; grandson, Jerry A. Johnson and wife Ericka of Wilmington, Delaware and their daughter; sisters, Ruth Shelly of PA, Earlene Nesbitt of Rising Sun, MD, and Dorothy Warner of Charlestown, MD.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother Bernard (Peanut) Kane and his sister Frances Green.
A service will be held in Paul’s honor at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August, 29, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton MD 21921. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
