Paul “Chuckie” Lawrence Samuels, age 74 of Rising Sun, MD passed away on March 30, 2024. He was born in Elkton, MD on February 21, 1950, to the late Frederick Samuels and Virginia (Christie) Samuels.

Paul worked for Cole Lumber Yard for several years and then went to work for the State of Maryland for 33 years as an Equipment Operator before deciding to retire. He was an active member of his community, volunteering in the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, Special Olympics of Cecil County, and an EMT with Cecil County Fire Police. He helped with various fundraising events and assisted with the Ladies Auxiliary anytime they needed help. Paul was a devoted son and caretaker to his mother, Virginia. He took great joy in listening to music, especially modern and R&B music. Paul loved the Beatles and went to see them in concert in 1966 and has followed them since. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Paul is survived by his three cousins: Sherry Musselman of New Holland, PA, Jacklyn Jones of Aberdeen, MD and Jack “Jay” Lane of Quincy, MA.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick Samuels; sister, Angel Lynn Samuels; and cousin, Carol Lane McLeod.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends are welcomed to join at 10:00AM. Burial will be held private.
