Dear Paul was one of the finest human beings it has ever been my pleasure to know. So kind, so generous, so sensitive. He always wanted to be the best he could be spiritually and in his relationships with friends, family, employees. Not to mention physically. He was a consummate athlete and enoyed traveling around the country, possibly internationally (I don't know), to test his strength and endurance. No one has mentioned how handsome he was! He was the most handsome man I have known. When I first met Paul I was dazzled by his beauty but soon forgot his looks and instead was impressed by his goodness and kindness and humility and strength of character. My sincerest condolences to Sheila for her untimely and cruel loss.

Paul Schlosser was the best Landlord a tenant could ask for. He was also a gentleman, an inspiration, and listened with an open heart, mind, and ears. My wife Amber and I will miss him and the presence that he had. Our thoughts, sympathies and sorrows go out to his family, and the City of Newark at Large. God Bless, Aldri Glemme (Never Forget), Andrew R. Chalrton (Anders EnsomUlv Ragnarokker

Such a wonderful person. I am so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. I only knew him as an acquaintance when our children were young. But that short time it was clear he was a wonderful person. My heart is with your family and I will hold Paul in my prayers.

Dear Schlosser Family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Paul. I met Paul in the mid 70's through mutual friends and we were housemates in the country house off of 9' Road by Louviers. He always made me laugh as he was a fun guy. I have some very nice memories of Paul.

Terry Foreman left a message on May 16, 2013:
Paul was a visionary, a person who could imagine great things and then set about to make them happen. He loved thinking about new locations for murals and would champion the Newark Arts Alliance by sponsoring and providing space for new public art projects. These projects helped provide paid work for artists, teaching opportunities for teens and adults and an enhanced landscape in many public areas of downtown Newark. Whenever the Newark Arts Alliance moved to a new location, Paul would take care of all the plumbing needs, saving the organization thousands of dollars. His generosity continued with rent saving projects and support of special events through the years. He was also a great source of sound advice and always had a helpful point of view when addressing new challenges. He was a great arts advocate, a mentor and a friend. He will always be in our hearts. -Terry Foreman, former director, Newark Arts Alliance

Paul was a man of integrity and class and conducted his business in the same manner. I enjoyed working with him on many projects over the last 10 years. All of them were completed on time and at budget (usually under) even though it appeared at times that completion was in trouble. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.

I had four years of great memories in high school and early in college with Paul...... homeroom, drive-ins, prom, hayrides, sledding, picnics, Florida, barn raising, Sadie Hawkins, beach trips, riding around in a green Schlosser pickup truck and so much more. We grew up together. The thing I will remember most about Paul, is his total love for his family. It meant more to him than anything else in his life. I am so sorry for your loss. The world lost a kind, caring, and compassionate man.

What can I say about Paul, other than he helped me write one of the most exciting, fun and rewarding chapters in my life. The memories of all of the moments we shared together will forever be etched in my mind and will always be remembered fondly. Paul taught me so much about the world and helped me to see it in a way I may never have been able to without him. I will miss him greatly, but will continue to talk about his effect on me and those he touched. I know my mother, who loved him dearly, will have welcomed him to his new life with open arms. - Christine

I have worked for Paul for 8 years at Schlosser & Associates. As his "Gal Friday" there wasn't a thing I wouldn't have done for him. He inspired that kind of loyalty in his friends, family, and employees. He will be greatly missed! His dog "Meatball" misses him too. "Meatball"still sits under Paul's desk waiting for him to show up and open the treat drawer.

Paul held higher standards for himself than anyone I've ever known. You cold find him smiling no matter how hard the work was and he wasn't afraid to march to the sound of his own drummer. Paul was truly unique. I am a better person for having known him.
