Paul Joseph “Babe” Darsney, 84, of Newark, DE, passed away at his home April 13, 2013 with his daughter and sister by his side.
Born in Fort Mott, NJ on January 29, 1929, Paul was the son of the late Harry and Mary Agnes Burke Darsney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and also a life member of Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Co. as well as the Newark Senior Center. He was a skilled craftsman and an avid baseball fan. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his daughter Irene DiSabatino and her husband Ed of Newark, DE; grandson Peter Trotto and his wife Barbi; granddaughter Pamela Trotto and three great grandchildren, Jordan, Alli and Macay. He also leaves behind two sisters, Doris Cochran and Bernice LaPolt. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Geraldine who died in 2011, his great granddaughter Carly and his brothers James and Harry Darsney, Jr.
A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Thursday April 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 10 am. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
