JOHN BAYALIS SR. left a message on March 15, 2018:
I had the pleasure of having Paul as my sister's husband and brother in law for many years. I watched them come together as a couple and create a special world for them selves. It was always an enjoyable time when we were able to get together. Paul was a true Renaissance man with his interests and expertise spread out in a variety of subjects. Music of course was his first love, but he could discuss rare stamp collectors in detail along with sharing in the joy of an Eagles super bowl win. He was a giving person and I will miss the good times we had during our visits. Who else will help me to solve the mysteries of the right mixture for a perfect Manhattan or remember the best quotes from our favorite Inspector Morse episodes? He is at peace now but the world so much less interesting and alive without him.

Tony Broh left a message on March 12, 2018:
Paul became a member of ZBT at Marshall during the ascendancy of the fraternity's membership and campus leadership. His position as Drum Major was a source of pride that all of us shared, but his leadership in helping guide all of us without his musical talent in the "Mothers' Day Sing" is one of my lasting memories. My condolences to the family as I renew my own thoughts and memories of many years gone by. Tony Broh, Brookline, MA

Paul was a gentle soul. Though a very private man, he had a magnetic personality when one got to know him. Being a family member, I had the privilege of knowing that side of him. He was a man of depth with a wide range of interests. He was well versed on all sorts of topics and was eager to share his knowledge of classical music, boating skills, photography interests, politics and a myriad of other topics. He also possessed a wonderful dry wit which was engaging and entertaining. I will remember him for his generous spirit, always eager to share his knowledge if you showed a spark of interest. Over the years, he sent me numerous music cds, collector's stamps, as well as photography and music magazines. In this respect, he was truly a teacher which reflected his lifelong profession. I was so fortunate, as were his family members, friends and students to have had this unique soul in my life.
