Paul Edwin Barnard, age 87, of Puyallup, WA, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011. He was born on March 9, 1924 in Cheyenne, WY to the late Paul and Grace (Devine) Barnard.
Paul was a veteran of the US Army where he served during WWII as a paratrooper. He was a member of the VFW Post #475 and a member of the Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his son, Paul Alan Barnard of Ely, NV and daughters, Karen Jean Quintella of Buckley, WA and Bonnie Susan Barnard of Bonney Lake, WA; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Delroy Barnard of Tacoma, WA and sister Carol Jean Capps of Kent, WA.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gean (Hopkins) Barnard and sister, Sarah Elizabeth Lenio; brother, James Calvin Barnard of Rancho Cordova, CA; sisters, Barbara Ann Nelin of San Mateo, CA and Vivian Pauline Wolfe of Albuquerque, NM; and son, Richard Elison Barnard of Cheyenne, WY.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE. Friends and family may also call from 9:30am – 10:30am at R.T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, Delaware 19711.
