Patsy A. Rush, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at her home. Born in Montgomery County, Virginia on October 19, 1944, Patsy was the daughter of the late Wilford Boone and Daisy Mozell (Richmond) Boone.
Patsy was a graduate of Talcott High School in Talcott, WV. She was a longtime member of and worked as a secretary for the Immaculate Conception Church in Elkton, MD. Patsy enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening, but was recognized by all who knew her as an exceptional cook that made sure everyone was fed. She loved spending time in the mountains and with her beloved Pomeranian dogs.
Patsy is survived by her three children: Thomas A. Rush, II. and his wife, Michele of Grafton, MA; Catherine A. Rush of Colora, MD and Jason A. Rush of North East, MD; three grandchildren: Andrew M. Dvorak, Madeline Kate Rush and Olivia Kate Rush; three brothers: Delmas Williams, Kenneth Williams and Larry Williams; and four sisters: Lou Belcher, Helen Maddy, Gail Williams and Jeanie Hicks.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Rush, Sr., two brothers: Shelby Boone and Ricky Williams; and sister, Josephine Patterson.
A Celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may visit beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to “St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital” and sent in care of the funeral home.
