

Patricia F. Nickle. 85, of Rising Sun, MD passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015.
Born February 14, 1929 in Elwyn, PA, Patricia was the daughter of the late Michael and Ednell (Passmore) McLaughlin. Patricia was a lady of strong faith and was well versed in her Bible studies. She a member of Conowingo Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church of North East. She retired from a 22 year career at Calvert Manor Nursing Home where she was a nurse’s aide. Patricia enjoyed traveling with the Cecil Travelers and she was an avid reader and was a member of the Rising Sun Library book club. However, Patricia’s greatest joy was spending time with her loving family and friends.
Patricia is survived by her son, Michael Ford of Sterling, VA; step daughters, Ruth Graybeal of Rising Sun, MD, Carol Adams of Rising Sun, MD, and Peggy Morrison of Perryville, MD; two grandchildren, Brian and Erin Sorensen both of Kennewick, WA; 3 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Carr, Mildred Denesowicz, and Bernice Whitmore; and brother, Philip McLaughlin.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Edwin P. Ford who passed away in 1973 and Charles Nickle who passed away in 2000; sisters, Margaret Duperreault, Mary Gertrude Quillen, and Ann Dunaway; and her brother, Richard McLaughlin.
A service will be held in Patricia’s honor at 1 pm Monday, January 19, 2015 at Conowingo Baptist Church, 151 Rock Springs Road, Conowingo, MD 21918, where family and friends may visit beginning at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Harford Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Ruth N. Graybeal Nursing Endowed Scholarship Fund and sent in care to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.
