The family sadly announces the passing of Norman (“Freddie’) Gordner, Jr, Conowingo, MD on December 1,2025. He was born December 7, 1955 in Snow Hill, MD, the son of the late Norman and Lois (Richards) Gordner, Sr. He graduated from West Nottingham Academy.
Fred retired from Department of Defense (DOD), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD in 2016, with 33 years of civilian government service. Prior to his civil service time, he was a DOD contractor in Geodetics.
Fred had a big heart and would gladly help anyone in need. He loved his family, cherished spending time with friends, and being outdoors (especially hunting and fishing). Fred also enjoyed cooking, with family favorite dishes such as steamed shrimp, linguine with clam sauce, and crab cakes. He was a passionate dog lover, and especially loved spending time with “Bandit” and “Ginger”.
Survivors include his daughter Kelly Rixham (Matt); step-son, Kyle Laferte (Liz); and step-daughter, Kaylin Goodwin (Brandon). He is survived by 7 grandchildren: Rylee Rixham, Cole Rixham, Kolton Laferte, Willow Goodwin, Clayton Goodwin, Scarlett Goodwin, and Maddox Goodwin, and many cousins.
No visiting hours will be observed. R.T. Foard Funeral Home will oversee arrangements. Service will be held privately.
