Nicholas ‘Nick’ Luzetsky, Sr., age 85, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Elkton Care and Rehabilitation. He was born on May 1, 1926 to the late Alexander and Martha (Yanyk) Luzetsky.
Nick was a veteran of the US Navy where he served 4 years as a signal man in WWII. He was a commercial painter and member of the Local Union #100 of Wilmington, DE. He was also a member of the WTA – Wilmington Trap Shooting Association and the VFW Post # 7687 of Chesapeake City, MD. Nick was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing, crabbing and hunting. He had a passion for being in the woods and outdoors. He also enjoyed shuffle board, playing poker and horse races.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas Luzetsky, Jr. of Chesapeake City, MD; daughter, Frances (Frannie) Bliss and her husband, Bradley of Chesapeake City, MD; grandson, John Adam Wesolowski of North East, MD; brothers, William Luzetsky and Stephen Luzetsky, both of Chesapeake City, MD; and sisters, Margaret Goral of Philadelphia, PA and Helen Tauber of NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther F. Luzetsky and his grandson, Stephen Wesolowski.
A Celebration of Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima, 301 Lock Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915, where friends and family may call one hour prior.
