Nancy Ruth Brice Weldon

Nancy Ruth Brice Weldon, 95 of Newark, DE passed away on March 7, 2017, with family by her side. Daughter of Jack Richardson Scott and Virginia Ruth Elder, Nancy was born on July 24, 1921, in Brookneal, Virginia. As a young woman, Nancy worked in her great aunt’s store on Main Street in Newark, “Peggy Cronin Fashions,” before starting a family.

The entire Brice clan and branching members enjoyed celebrating time together. In the early days, it involved parties with family and friends. As time passed, celebrations were spent with family and typically involved some sort of card or board game. We soon found out that Mom / Grammy could be very competitive, especially if there were monetary incentives for winning.

Mom had a passion for antiquities and thoroughly enjoyed bargain hunting all her life. Bird watching was a favorite past time and observing wild like in general gave her much pleasure. She also dabbled in backyard gardening and could never turn down a good homegrown tomato. Throughout her life, mom enjoyed traveling and was fortunate enough to see most of the United States by road and to travel abroad during the 90’s.

Nancy is survived by her oldest daughter and life-long companion, Pamela Sue Hall only son, Gregory Scott Brice (and wife Arlene), and youngest daughter Peggy Brice Wagner; as well as, ex-husband Richard Brice, and grandchildren, Nancy Epperly (and husband Walt), Gregory Hall (and wife Julie), Jeanette Mitchell (and husband George), Jessica Hall, Daniel Brice (and wife Angel), Jamie Brice (and wife Lindsey), Matthew Flood (and wife Kristen), Jennifer Crockett (and husband Rick), Richard and Felicia Wagner, and son-in-law, Lloyd Flood.

She is predeceased by her precious daughter Deborah Jane Flood, beloved great-granddaughter Melanie Joy Epperly, and devoted husband Arthur Joseph Weldon. Services will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
