Nancy J. Kubek, age 68, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Born July 08, 1948 in Glenwood City, WI, Nancy was the daughter of the late Gordon and Eileen (Myers) Wilkum.

Nancy was a home maker, but as her children grew, she went to work for Maryland Materials where she worked for twenty years as a dispatcher. She loved reading, crocheting and baking. With a talent for baking, she was known for having the best pies, carrot cake and lasagna. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and looked forward to vacationing in January and July with her husband in Atlantic City to celebrate their birthdays. Nancy was also a volunteer at the American Legion Post #194, helping out whenever a hand was needed. During football season, she was a lifelong, enthusiastic supporter of her beloved hometown Green Bay Packers.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard; sons Michael Kubek and wife, Jessie and Randy Kubek and companion Jodi Blevins; sister, Margaret Wilkum; nephew, Christopher Wilkum; two grandchildren, Sophia Marie Kubek and Allorie Michael Kubek.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Tiffany Lynn Kubek; sister, Colleen Ligocki; three nieces, Cherie Ligocki, Dawn Ligocki and Michelle Ligocki, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Kirschner.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 7PM on Friday, September 9, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 with a visitation beginning at 6PM where family and friends are encouraged to attend.
