Myrtle Belle Tapp, age 89, of Peryville, MD, passed away August 24, 2015 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Harford Memorial Hospital.
Born in Johnson City, TN, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Neal and Martha Miller Pate. She worked in food service in the Cecil County Public Schools. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Gloryland Singers. She was a talented musician and songwriter. She loved children and was a babysitter to many of them. She was also a talented cook and devoted to her family.
She is survived by her son, William Toby Tapp of Elkton, MD; two daughters, Eva McCreary and her husband David of North East and Myrtle Kathy Myers of Aberdeen, MD; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren; as well as her brother Woodrow Pate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marion Tapp; her son Marion Neal Tapp and her sisters Elizabeth Madron and Virginia Pierce.
Services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 29, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 with a visitation Friday August 28 from 6 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to William Toby Tapp to help with funeral expenses and mailed to the funeral home.
