Myrna J. Karanovich

Myrna J. Karanovich, age 78, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020. She was born on September 4, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Walter and Jennie (Swartz) Zarske.

Myrna was a homemaker who took great joy in taking care of her husband and children. She also worked side by side with her husband, George running an Ice Cream Parlor in Langley Park, MD, Along with other businesses. Myrna will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Myrna is survived by her three sons: Kenneth (Kenny) Karanovich, (wife Jenni) of Damascus, MD, Frederick (Fred) Karanovich, (wife Lesley) of Frederick, MD, and Robert (Bobby) Karanovich, (wife Debbie) of Clarksville, MD; and sister, Sylvia Adams and husband Dave, of Elkton, MD; she is also survived by her four grandchildren. Jacob Karanovich, Zoey Karanovich, Kyle Karanovich, and Kelly Karanovich. In addition to her parents, Myrna is preceded in death by her husband, George Karanovich who died in 2001.

Services will be held privately at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Myrna’s honor may be made payable to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) and sent in care of the funeral home; R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

Our families have been friends for about 45 years. Our parents were such goods friends. Our mom's were best friends. It's hard to believe all of our parents are now gone. Seems not long ago that we are all playing in the neighborhood, swimming, dogs, big truck parties. Sigh. We loved your mom as if she were our own. And even after mom died we kept in touch with her. as recently as two weeks ago. As she had adopted Scott and I As her own. We tearfully miss her.

And now you, Fred and Bob, officially have another brother and a sister to count on when you need to remember how special it has been, through good and bad, to do life together as family friends. God has been good to all of us and I know will take care of y'all through the grief process. And we are both here for each of you as well. Only a call or text away.
