Myra Barrett, age 88, of Colora, MD passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD, surrounded by her loving family. Myra was born in Port Deposit, MD on January 13, 1925 to the late John and Ruth (Balderston) Lippincott.

Myra was a wonderful farm wife who loved taking care of her home and family. She was a caring mother not only to her own children, but to many others who always enjoyed a place at the family table. Myra loved sewing, working on jigsaw puzzles, and enjoyed her garden. She was involved in local activities like Colora Friends Meeting and 4H All Stars. Myra taught Sunday school at Mt Pleasant Methodist in Colora when her children were young.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Morton, of Colora, MD, sons; Ellis Barrett and fiancé Pamela McCracken of Colora, MD, Steven Barrett and wife Shelly of Colora, MD, Michael Barrett and wife Diane of Spencer, WV; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.

She was predeceased by husband Earl Barrett who passed away in 2005, son John Barrett; brother Thomas Lippincott, sister Jane Haldeman, and two infant sisters, Anna Mary and Ellen.

A Service will be held Thursday April 11, 2013 at 8 PM at RT Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends and family may call two hours prior beginning at 6PM. Burial will be Friday April 12, 2013 at 11AM at Colora Friends Cemetery.
