Bun Reese came into my family’s life when I was very young. My mother was a teacher, and that is how she met Wanda & Bun. The Reeses became close friends with both of my parents. I could go on & on about how wonderfully enriching it was to have Bun Reese as a role model throughout my life, but I will fast forward to something more specific. In 1987 my father died leaving my mother a young broken-hearted widow. It was at this time that Bun & Wanda proved themselves to be the very best kind of friends. They would call Mom regularly & visit her often. Their company would lift her spirits. They let her know she wasn’t alone. They were there for her for the rest of her life. I will be forever grateful for that. Mom liked to recite a quote from William Butler Yeats, “Think where man’s glory begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends.” I know she had glorious friends like Bun & Wanda in mind. Rest in peace & comfort, dear Bun. Thank you for being a true friend. I love you!

dear family, Don and I were so saddened to hear of Buns passing. We always enjoyed his company--loved the oyster roasts. I know he was so proud of his wonderful family. How special it is that he was able to see all of you so accomplished and happy. Our love, Sherrie and Don Kirtley

Our thoughts of deepest sympathy are with all the Reese family. I have a great memory of Bun driving me to Brookside Elementary school in the summer of 1968 where we both taught a summer Title One program. He drove us in style- his yellow convertible! I was a newly married 21 year old and I was very impressed! Bun was a great teacher and mentor. He leaves behind a great legacy.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Years ago when my son entered Tatnall in the third grade his teacher was "Mr. Reese". From the moment I saw that kind wise face with a sense of humor I knew this would be a good experience for Will and indeed it was a happy and fullfilling one as "Mr. Reese" contributed to Will's development as a student and a person and made it fun along the way. What a wonderful man who made us all feel accepted and at ease. Wiith love and sympathy for your loss to Wanda, Bart, Martha and all of the family. He will always be remembered with affection and admiration.

Murv was plain and simple — an incredible person. He was my second grade teacher before arriving at Tatnall. As his obituary notes, he always made me feel like I could do whatever I put my mind to. He was always one of my favorite teachers. Given all his years in education, there is no doubt he was devoted to making people into productive citizens. I’ve thought about Murv every day since his lovely wife Wanda let me know about his passing. Ultimately my thoughts turn into a grateful smile. My deepest condolences. Much love, Bob Brams (Tatnall’77)

Dear Wanda, what a wonderfully, kind, generous man Murv was. He picked me up and drove me to school my first year of teaching. I had no car or driver's license at that time and I'm sure he had many better things to do with his time. Since I was a new teacher, he also had good ideas for me to use in the classroom. I also enjoyed working with you a few years later at Maclary. My deepest sympathy is with you and your family.

To Wanda, Bart, and Martha, I extend my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loving patriarch. Murv’s passing is so sad for all who knew him. I will treasure my Tatnall memories of Murv, in and out of school. He was an outstanding colleague and friend. Murv always brought his positive attitude, twinkle in his eye, and ready smile to everything he did. My remembrances of Murv are happy, joyful, and will always bring a smile. He touched so many lives; I was fortunate to be one. Ann
