Susan K. Hilferty of Conowingo, MD passed away unexpectedlyon August 10, 2023, surrounded by her family. Susan was a devout follower of Jesus. She loved her family deeply and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She took satisfaction in raising and home educating her children with her husband of nearly 50 years, Tom. While enjoying gardening and collecting, Susan was passionate about many things, including helping others through her direct sales business. She often took others under her wing,and many who knew her felt nurtured by her kindness.
Susan is predeceased by her father James Jones and mother Mary Louise Jones. Susan is survived her husband Thomas, children Brenda (Mick), Joshua (Kristen), Elisabeth (Bill), Isaiah (Johannah), Lily (Andrew), Josiah (Jessica), grandchildren Garrett, Justice, Jameson, William, Joelle, Elliott,and Isabelle, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.Susan was the eldest sister of five surviving siblings, Donna, James, Patrice, Doria, and Cecelia. The family invites all who loved Susan to join them for a celebration of life to be held in her honor, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, Rising Sun, MD, on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 4:00PM with a reception to follow. Family will begin receiving friends and loved ones at 3:00PM.
