Sandra Lee Bachman, age 75, of Chesapeake City, Maryland, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on September 29, 1949, in Rochester, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Edith Svenson, and the devoted wife of over 50 years to George Bachman, her lifelong partner and best friend.
Sandy’s life was one of passion, love, and dedication. She and George shared a deep love for horses, a bond that shaped much of their life together. Together, they traveled and camped together training and running horses on the racetrack, giving them pride and purpose. With this, they created memories that they would share for a lifetime.
Sandy had a deep connection with the natural world, especially the water. She found great happiness at any beach with her toes in the water basking in the sun.
An avid gardener, Sandy had a special gift for nurturing life. Her gardens were always full of color and vibrancy that matched her spirit.
As a lover of all animals, she was always an advocate for rescue. In her lifetime she had countless animals that she would take into her care, to provide the love and nurturing that she knew they deserved.
Above all else, Sandra was a woman of family. Her greatest love was reserved for those closest to her—her husband, children, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter. Her legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Sandra is survived by her devoted husband, George Bachman; her loving children, George Bachman, Jr. and his wife Mariah, and Jennifer Bachman; her treasured granddaughter, Taylor Bramble, and Taylor’s husband Austin; and her cherished great-granddaughter, Bailee Bramble. She also leaves behind her beloved animals, extended family members and many dear friends who were touched by her generosity, kindness and gentle soul.
A service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Sandy’s memory to Paws for Life Inc. Dog Rescue or Mid Atlantic Horse Rescue —causes close to her heart.
She will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the lives of those she loved.
