Janet Elizabeth Belles (88) of Bear, DE passed away on June 27, 2023.

Survived by her beloved children: daughter, Brenda Jan Dreifke and husband, Larry, Wind Lake, WI; son, Steven L. and wife, Donna, Newark, DE; her equally beloved grandchildren: grandsons, Steven Harry Belles, Salisbury, MD; Brett Andrew Belles, Newark, DE; Senior Airman Trace Allen Dreifke, USAF, and wife, Natalee, Cheyenne, WY; granddaughter, Sarah Mandli and husband, Drew, Verona, WI.

For years she followed all her grandchildren in whatever they pursued: from baseball, football, soccer, and racing Quarter Midget cars. Always with camera in hand! She took thousands of pictures and videos. She was their biggest and oldest fan. Her sister, Lois Tiller, VA; sister-in-law, Carolyn Shupp, AL and nieces & nephews of both her and Harry’s sides of their family also survive her.

She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Harry, and twin infant sons. Her parents, Helen & Lawrence Shupp, PA; sister, Barbara Maguire, DE and brother, Wayne Shupp, AL.

Janet worked as a baker in the cafeterias at Springer Jr., Hanby Jr., Brandywine High and Concord High Schools in the Brandywine School District, WSFS and Clement Communications. After retiring she spent 8 years as Secretary of the Newark Senior Center’s Senior Surfers Computer Club.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home – 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Sunnyside Cemetery – Sunnyside Road, Tunkhannock, PA
