Jane Allyne Pauciulo (83) of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully at her home on August 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 12, 1939, she was the cherished daughter of the late William and Grace (nee, Anderson) Tiedemann, and the beloved wife of Sal Pauciulo.
Jane grew up in the heart of a big city, yet her neighborhood in Flatbush felt like a close-knit small town. In those tight-knit surroundings, neighbors knew each other well, and their watchful eyes ensured that everyone acted in the right way. This upbringing fostered a strong sense of community and responsibility that Jane carried with her throughout her life.
After her education, Jane began her career as a secretary at Ingersoll Rand, an Engineering Firm. Her dedication and reputation led her to Faulkner, Dawkins, and Sullivan. Jane’s professional journey was characterized by her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. However, her true calling was raising her three sons: Frank, Paul, and John.
In 1968, the family moved to Wilkes Barre, PA, where Jane worked at the RCA factory on the third shift to balance work with childcare. Later, in 1976, she found her passion working in the Banquet Office at the Genetti Hotel, orchestrating parties, weddings, and other events. Her vibrant personality and love for her work created cherished memories for countless individuals.
The family later settled in Maryland in 1987, where Jane worked alongside her husband, Sal, at Commander Garment until it was acquired. Jane then contributed her skills to the Utilities industry for 12 years, retiring in 1989, the same year she obtained her driver’s license for the first time. Even in retirement, she engaged in part-time work at Easton Bank and Trust and the Hockessin Athletic Club in Delaware.
Jane’s interests were as diverse as her experiences. An avid reader, she devoured the works of her favorite authors and was a skilled bridge player. Her passion for classic movies and her unwavering Catholic faith also played prominent roles in her life. Above all, Jane’s adoration for her grandchildren was undeniable. Her legacy will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Jane is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Sal Pauciulo; three sons: Frank (Michelle) Pauciulo, Paul (Catherine) Pauciulo, John Pauciulo; five grandchildren: Alexandra (Mike), Samantha, Dylan, Michael, Nina; two great-grandchildren: Cole and Luke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church – 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
