Frances Susan McDade, age 75, of North East, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE on May 30, 1948, Frances brought joy and kindness into the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of the late Clifford and Frances (Milson) Hanna.
Frances shared a remarkable bond of 56 years with her high school sweetheart, Thomas Glen McDade, whom she lovingly supported and cared for throughout their journey together.
Devoted to her faith, Frances was a lifelong member of Moore’s Chapel Church in Elkton, MD, where she dedicated her time to various charitable causes, particularly those aiding the homeless. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to serving others left an indelible mark on her community.
Among her passions, Frances had a deep love for horses and found immense joy in teaching riding lessons. She was a familiar face at countless horse shows, where her enthusiasm and expertise shone brightly.
In addition to her love for horses, Frances had a green thumb and found solace in nurturing her garden blooms, each petal a testament to her nurturing soul.
Above all, Frances will be remembered for her boundless love, kindness, and generosity. Her presence illuminated the lives of those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Frances is survived by her two adoring children: Lisa Palmer and her husband, Kevin, and Richard McDade and his wife, Missy; her four grandchildren: Andrew Gwinn, Jonathan Gwinn, Emma McDade, and Nathan Harrington; and her two great-grandchildren: Oliver Gwinn and Carson Gwinn.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at R. T. Foard Funeral Home – 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Moore’s Chapel UMC Church – 392 Blake Road, Elkton, MD 21921, family and friends are invited to gather and reminisce on cherished memories of Frances beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Moore’s Chapel UMC Cemetery.
