





Edith J. Lindell (nee Wythe) passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022. Born on August 22, 1924, in Cecilton, MD she was a long-time resident of Newark, DE and later of Woodsfield, OH. She was a homemaker, however, she enjoyed working for Howard Johnson’s restaurant part time in her younger years. At age 18 she married Henry W. Lindell and they enjoyed 40 years of marriage before his passing in 1983.
They loved to host parties, travel and spend time with friends and family. Small in stature, Edith was feisty and loved life. She maintained her optimism and strength until she left us despite battling Alzheimer’s disease. She will truly be missed.
In addition to her husband, Edith was predeceased by her son, James B Lindell of Lewisville, OH, brothers Kenneth Wythe of Elkton, MD, Richard Wythe of Bear, DE and his wife, Maryann.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Mcintire, granddaughter, Dawn Mclntire, both of Bear, 3 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend, Gerta Collins and her son Gabe Collins of Martinsburg, WV.
All services will be private by family request. Edith will join her husband at Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, MD.
