James W. Kimble, Jr. 72, of Rising Sun, MD passed away the morning of August 4th, 2022 at Calvert Rehabilitation Center in Rising Sun, MD. Born December 17, 1949, on the family farm in Church Hill, MD he was the son of the late James and Georgianna (Minch)Kimble, Sr. He is Survived by his loving companion of 23 years, Frances E. Yarber.
He was extremely proud of his years of service in the military. He was a war hero, Green-Beret Special Forces unit, completed two tours in Vietnam, and was awarded many metals, including two Purple Hearts, and The Army Commendation Medal, and spoke three languages fluently.
Jim was a Master Mechanic at Hinder Ford and retired after years of dedicated service. He took great pride in spending quality time with his family and friends. He found enjoyment in Fishing, taking his Classic Car to shows where he won many awards, playing the lottery, and taking care of his Dog Snowball. He was a professional bowler over the years, worked on race car pit-crews, and was an avid Orioles, and Ravens fan. He always had a joke to tell, he truly was a good friend to all. He is greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.
He has Nine brothers and sisters, and was preceded in death by brother’s James F. Kimble (Maggie), Eugene Kimble both of Church Hill, MD, Bernard Kimble (Marge), and Richard Kimble (Virginia) both of Chestertown, MD. David Kimble (Dot)of Vallejo, CA, Joseph Kimble (Hope) of Church Hill, MD, Rita Hall of Aberdeen, MD, Mary Russum of Queenstown, MD, and Barbara Anderson of Cordova, MD. Four children, Jennifer Kimble of Chesterville MD, James W. Kimble, III (Jessica) of Church Hill MD, Jaclyn M. Warrington (Mike) of Chestertown MD, and Kelsey Ivey (Seth) of Fayetteville, NC.
Six grandchildren, Samantha Hornsby, Isabelle Barbour, James W. Kimble, IV, T.J. Adams, Rebecka Adams, Ella Ivey, and 1 Great Grandchild MacKenzie Calder. Four Step-Children, Buddy Cornett, Nancy Johnstone, Donna Hammond, Tanya Adams, and Eight Step-Grand Children, and Five Step-Great Grand Children. Many loving Nieces and Nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the R. T. Foard Funeral Home – 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home, A one hour visitation will he held prior to the service. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery.
