

Miller Irvin Jensen, 86, of Elkton, MD passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at his home.
Born February 19, 1928 in Elkton, MD, Miller was the son of the late Irvin and Calysta Jensen. He attended Washington College, Beacom College and Cecil Community College. He played baseball in the Cecil County League, Pen Mar League, and Susky League for Elkton, Providence, and Hickory Hill. Miller served as a Staff Sargent in both the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He is a member of the American Legion Post 15, Elkton, MD and a life member of the VFW Post 7687, Chesapeake City, MD. He dedicated 42 years to his career with the United States Postal Service, retiring as the superintendent of postal operations.
Miller is survived by his son, James Jensen; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Jensen; granddaughter, Virginia Schreppler and her husband, Nathan; and great granddaughter, Georgia Schreppler. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia Jean Jensen and his son, John Jensen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church, 455 Bow St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends my visit beginning at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
