Mrs. Mildred A. Weed

May 15, 1920 - August 3, 2013

Mildred Warrington Weed, died peacefully in her 93rd year, on August 3, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Mildred was born in Elkton, MD on May 15, 1920. She was the daughter of the late James W. and Jane Wilamina Warrington. She lived her entire life in Cecil County, MD.

She married Raymond B. Weed in 1937 and worked with and supported him in his career as a builder. She and Raymond brought six children into the world. She devoted her life to her family.

She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Church and lived her life as a good and faithful servant of God.

She is survived by her son, Raymond B. Weed Jr. of Elkton, MD; daughters, Betty J. Weed of Elkton, MD, Virginia R. Weed of Long Beach, CA, Mary L. Bollen of Chesapeake City, MD and Bernadette M. Weed of Elkton, MD; brother, Edward Warrington of Townsend, DE; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Weed and daughter, Rose Anne Holmes.

In keeping with Mildred’s wishes, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Immaculate Conception Church may be made in Mildred’s name and mailed to the funeral home at: R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

Dearest Weed Family, It is grievous to lose a loved one, but the loss of your Mom must be indeed devastating. Words cannot express my deep and sincere sympathy to you in your loss. I will always cherish memories of the love and generosity that Mildred and Raymond always demonstrated when my dad and brothers and i would visit them at their home along the Elk River. Mildred and Raymond stood as witnesses to my Mom and Dad's wedding in the Immacualte Conception Rectory when it stood on Cathedral street in Elkton, and as my Godparents when I was baptized in 1947. My Dad always had a great fondness for Uncle Jim and Aunt Mina and all of his cousins and we always felt that love returned. I am greatly saddened by her passing, but am comforted, as I hope you are, by the sure understanding that she is at home with God.

To the weed ,Family, so sorry of your loss. Your Mother was a very caring lady. I remember as a young man growing up and my parents rented from your dad and mom on Mackall Street. They were so helpful.My Brother and I would like to say thank you for their kindness and your Mother will always be remembered in our prayers.God Bless all of you Edward Mckeown .

Have very fond memories of Aunt Mildred and Uncle Raymond both. They always made us feel welcomed in their home. Swimming in the river and then eating a snack at Aunt Mildred's kitchen counter, was such a treat . I know my Dad is happy to see his sister again, and I am looking forward to the day I can join my family in heaven too.
