Michael Stewart Thompson

May 9, 1950 - October 5, 2023

Michael Stewart Thompson (5/9/1950-10/5/2023), also lovingly called by family and friends, “Mr Mike” was born in Wilmington, DE. He was the the son of Paul J. (deceased) & Jacqueline S. Thompson and oldest brother to Jane E. Thompson-Rae and Timothy W. Thompson. He is survived by his two daughters, Caitlin Thompson and Hailey Courchia, and his Partner for 33 years, Karen Anderson. At the age of 2 years his family moved to Charlotte, NC. In Michael’s freshman year of High School the family moved to Bucks County, PA where he graduated from Council Rock HS. Michael attended one year at Penn State University but dropped out due to health reasons related to his life-long battle with Darier’s disease. Most of his adult life was spent in the Landenberg, PA area. Michael in earlier years was an accomplished painter, sculptor and creator. One of his proudest moments was having his handmade leather garments selected to be displayed in the Woodstock Festival Museum for their 50^th anniversary celebration. In later years Mr. Mike became immersed in repairing and reconditioning Apple Computers. He was also an avid gardener and a self-taught auto mechanic.

Mr. Mike was an original and a free spirit. He is loved and will be missed.

I’ve known Mike for 15 years. He was one of a kind. Rest in peace, my friend.

To all of Michael 's (that's what I always called him) family, I send my sincere love, prayers and special thoughts. He was a very kind person and I'll never forget the very special gift he made/gave to my Mom, on her 100th birthday. God bless you cousin Michael and may you find peace and contentment wherever your soul rest.

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS I Did a lot of business with Mike I'm going to Miss him

I was so sad to hear of “Mr Mike’s” passing. I’ve known him for many years as my spirited customer at Landenberg Post Office. He loved to challenge me but at the same would express great interest and compassion regarding my son, Brad. Brad was brain-injured in an auto accident 24 years ago at the age of 17. Mike always asked how he was doing. I will miss Mike…finally he was finding some help for the disease that he suffered with for so long. He had came in to the post office to share his good news. I pray that he is at peace and blessings to all of you that loved him,

Cousin Mike, we will miss you. I only have memories of you from my youth, but you were always a great guy around me. To Tim, Jane and Aunt Jackie…may you find peace and comfort in these moments of sadness and I hope you can cherish the good memories you had with Michael. We love you guys
