Michael “Mike” Wetsel of Elkton, MD, age 40, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Mike was born on July 25, 1979 in Chester, PA to James and Linda Wetsel.

Mike was a commercial truck driver of Evoqua Water Technologies. He loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles and played baseball and coached for the Elkton Little League and Select Travel Baseball for his son. Mike enjoyed going to Bethany Beach and traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC and Dominican Republic. His favorite music to listen to was Pearl Jam and the Beastie Boys. He was stubborn and hard headed but had a jolly and happy way about him. His heartfelt generosity went out to anyone he knew and he was a loving and amazing father and uncle.

Mike is survived by his parents, James and Linda (Vickers) Wetsel of Conway, SC; son, Michael Charles Wetsel of Wilmington, DE; son, Keegan Gunner Wetsel of Elkton, MD; brother, James Michael Wetsel of Dominican Republic; fiancé, Susie K. Martin of Elkton, MD and his lifelong friend, Julie Williams of Newark, DE.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at R. T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may visiting from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to “All Seasons Sports Academy” and can be sent in the care of the funeral home.
