Michael J. Connors, age 66, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was born in Washington, DC on September 10, 1948, to the late George and Grace Lanham Connors.
A skilled carpenter, Michael worked at the Local #132 Union Hall in Washington, DC. He was proud of all the buildings at which he worked, and would enthusiastically point them out in his travels. In his retirement, he took up gardening and kept his gardens neat and free of weeds. His family will also miss his dry sense of humor, which would produce laughs when needed the most.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth Martini Connors; children, Brian Connors, of Emmitsburg, MD, Sean Connors and wife, Lisa, of Taneytown, MD, Ashley Baeder and husband, Zach, of North East, MD, and Kristen Connors, of Elkton, MD; sisters, Patti Smiley, of Danville, KY, and Suzanne Muller, of Cincinnati, OH; and three grandchildren, Skylar, Camryn, and Reagan.
A service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may visit one hour prior beginning at 1PM. Burial will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to “Kingdom Hall /Jehovah’s Witness”, 1120 Telegraph Road, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
