Melissa Lynn Poarch, formerly of North East, MD passed away April 24, 2017. She was born December 12, 1976 to Dana Poarch and Janet Poarch.

Melissa really enjoyed dancing and ballet as a child. After graduating from high school, Melissa pursued a career in beauty. She enjoyed her work as a beautician where she became a talented hair stylist. Melissa had a big heart and was a kind person.

In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her sister, April Poarch; son, Nathaniel Poarch; and son, Samuel Dickerson. She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael Joseph Poarch.

Services for Melissa Lynn Poarch will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

Sorry to hear about the loss of a good, intelligent and thoughtful person. She will be missed!

I wanted to put family because she was truly a daughter to me and a sister to my children. We spent so many days and nights together crowded into the bed watching TV, reading, and laughing. She was kind and generous. She was beautiful both on the inside and the outside. I wanted so much for her to come "home" to be with us. I have and will continue miss her. I know that now she is at peace. Know that we will always love you.
